We're delighted to announce that Spotlight Pathology has been awarded a grant from the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) to support our ongoing collaboration with Newcastle University Hospital and the National Pathology Imaging Co-operative (NPIC).

The grant will accelerate our work developing novel AI diagnostic tools focused on blood cancers — an area where earlier, more accurate detection can make a meaningful difference to patient outcomes.

This funding also addresses one of the most pressing structural challenges facing healthcare today. With the pathologist workforce under significant and growing pressure, AI-assisted diagnostics offers a credible, scalable path to maintaining diagnostic quality and capacity across the NHS.
